Air Suspensions
All Granning Lynx suspensions are specified with Firestone airsprings, high quality steel springs, high quality fabrications and double acting hydraulic shock absorbers in order to ensure that the wheels retain good contact with the road, shock loads are absorbed by the suspensions and loads transmitted to the chassis are reduced. Capacities range up to 12500kg, and high stability and low maintenance are now inherent products of many years of development.
All suspensions are fully metric and with the correct specification can be made to utilize their full potential to ensure that the operator fully satisfies his requirements throughout their demanding life.

Axles
Granning Lynx axles for heavy commercial vehicles are all 127mm diameter circular cross-sectioned beams made from high strength, heat treated, seamless steel tube. Different thickness of tube is utilized for the beams depending on the configuration and the capacity of the completed axle.
Many of the standard axles have their cold forged spindles friction welded into the tube in order to save mass and to give maximum strength in this joint. The brakes linings are always manufactured from 'Non-Asbestos' material and each specification of brake is EU approved to ensure that you are assured of stopping power when you need it !!
S-Cam brakes are fitted as standard with 'Quick-Fit' brake shoes, hardened two-piece cam rollers and Phosphor Bronze sintered camshaft bushes, for ease of maintenance and durability giving the vehicle the power to stop!
The 100 and 200 Series of drum braked axles are used for 22.5" radius wheels, and the 300 and 400 Series are employed for 17.5" & 19.5" tyres. The 100, 300 and 900 Series used for twin or single centre nave wheels, the 200 & 400 for single offset wheels.
The 100 and 200 Series axles have a brake size of 420mm x 178mm, and the 300 and 400 Series 310mm x 190mm, with the 900 Series axle 325mm x 225mm ??????
Granning Lynx Disc braked axles employ Knorr Bremse Axial disc brakes for their stopping power. The Knorr Bremse SB7000 and SB 6000 have been well proven and tested and are fitted to many commercial vehicles as original equipment, therefore to ensure that Granning Lynx axles can be compatible with the original vehicle disc braking equipment we have standardized on these disc brakes. This ensures that the braking force on each axle compliments the others and also many service items for the vehicle brakes are common.
The Granning Lynx 600 Series axle employs the SB6000 disc brake and is suitable for twin, or single center nave 22.5" radius wheels, and has a 390mm diameter rotor?? The 700 Series axle employs the SB7000 disc which is used for single offset 22.5" wheels and has a 430mm diameter rotor.
If operational requirements specify, ie to give prop clearance on a Mid axle, a drop centered tube can be employed for any of the above mentioned series of axle and brake.
